How will you spend your bonus payout?
The end of year is coming again and many will be looking forward to the bonus payout. Judging from the current situation, I daresay that the bonus payout will be very different in quantity as well as in its usage.
I know, I know, today is just the first day of the last quarter, but it is good to dream right?
For me, these will be the top areas of spend for my bonus:
1) To paydown my mortgage
2) To invest in unit trust for my retirement and the kids’ education funds
3) To reward my parents
4) To have some play money, i.e. toys for the kids, fancy meals for the family and possibly a nice wallet for myself ; )
This was very different from previous years’ where most went into settling credit card bills and shopping.
I read somewhere that the recent global crisis has changed people’s spending and saving habits quite significantly. At first, I brushed it away, but when I reviewed my own habits, it seems to be true after all!
