Why getting rich is bad
Posted on June 04th, 2009 in All, Financial rambles
Here are some of the things people have said to me when they accuse me of being obsessed with getting rich.
1) Getting rich invites all the “rich man’s diseases”
2) Getting rich makes you forget about your roots
3) Getting rich makes you less appreciative of hard work
4) Getting rich makes your kids spoilt
5) Getting rich makes you greedy
6) Getting rich makes you arrogant
7) Getting rich makes you a likely target of robbers and thieves
Getting rich invites envy
9) Getting rich makes you less likeable
10) Getting rich results in your husband straying
So, what do you think? Is getting rich bad for you?

It’s not about getting rich.
It’s about your whole damn life is nothing but about making money and getting rich.
I know many people who are not rich but always talking about finance lah, this lah, always trying to find ways to get rich, etc..
Damn boring people, soulless and their whole life is related around making more money.
They have 0 intellectual wisdom.
Everything come out from mouth, finance, make more money, etc etc.
The most boring bunch of people who has nothing but finance in their mind.
What’s the use of being rich if you’re seen as a sterile soulless being ?
Want to be rich, and READY to be rich is one thing.
Everyone wants to be rich but not everyone is ready with the responsibility that comes with it.

It’s all about the attitude of a person when he or she makes it. It’s inevitable that people will tend to change their lifestyle once they have the money, but I will not stereotype rich people to be bad. I’ve met some filthy rich people who are more humble than the middle class. What do we have to say about these rich people?

Should we look at the more positive ways? Anyway, rich has their rich problems. Poor has their poor problems.

ChampDog – Totally agree with you. But I think better to be rich with problems than not! Haha.

I also agree with ChampDog. But i won’t mind having the problems faced by the rich rather then being poor! ^^

Getting rich is certainly better than staying poor or getting poor. There are more positive sides than the negative sides.
Those who is getting rich is getting more alert of opportunities, getting more hardworking, getting more serious with their future, lives and financial, getting more awareness of the value of life and time … thus they get more good, better and best things the world could give.
Those who are staying poor or getting poor are staying or getting less alert of opportunities around them, staying or getting lazy, getting less serious with their future, lives and financial, getting less awareness of the value of life and time … thus they get less good things from the world. The worst still, they envy or even hate the rich, and discourage others become richer. And the worst of all worsts, they put everything on God and when things turn bad, they start to blame God.
