Mid Valley Food Junction

Today I had this “Pan Mee” at Mid Valley for dinner. I paid RM6.85 for it, including taxes, which is fine, except that the price has gone up AND the quantity has shrunken!!

I had previously wrote about this observation where the prices have not gone up significantly but the quantity sure has come down a lot! This is another grand example of it.

And Bank Negara’s website still proudly proclaim that inflation is 3.8% in February 2009. I have always doubted the basket of goods which Bank Negara uses to measure these prices. Seems to me like they are trying to find all ways possible to lower this number when the rest of us are out here actually bearing the full brunt of it.

Hey, if the prices of things has gone up, then so be it, but please don’t make me feel like a fool out here thinking that 3.8% is the inflation rate and then get squeezed by the employer because this is the number proclaimed by the government when in actual fact it is probably double digit and we are all suffering here.

Isn’t it time someone look into what the basket of goods are and if they still produce some of it??
